Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has joined Fulham and Arsenal in the race for Southampton youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, son of former England winger Mark Chamberlain, is rated in the £10million bracket by Southampton and has scored five goals in 21 games this season.
Some club staff believe he has greater potential than Theo Walcott at the same age.
Oxlade-Chamberlain became the second youngest debutant - behind Walcott - in the League One club's history in March when he made his first Southampton appearance aged 16 years and 199 days.
He is an established first-team regular this season but has mainly figured on the wing.
