Manchester United are ready to switch their attentions from Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus to Southampton star Adam Lallana who is also wanted by Liverpool.
Reus is believed to be David Moyes' prime target during the Janaury transfer window but last season's Champions League finalists are demanding £40million to let him leave, according to the Daily Mail.
Lallana is a much cheaper alternative at around £15m and the Saints' 25-year-old comes with the added bonus that he will be eligible to play for the Red Devils in their Champions League campaign.
He has starred for Southampton this term to such an extent he now looks a lock to be part of Roy Hodgson's England squad heading to Brazil for the World Cup finals this summer.
Liverpool have also been linked with Lallana but United are ready to make the first move to capture the young talent.
