On loan Juventus midfielder Alberto Aquilani could be heading back to Liverpool with the Italian club apparently unwilling to match The Reds' £13 million asking price.
The 26-year-old joined the Italian giants on loan last summer after a nightmare first season on Merseyside, but despite having the option to buy the Italian international permanently, The Old Lady aren't keen.
Aquilani started just 14 matches in an injury hit first season in English football after arriving from Roma for £20 million in the summer of 2009.
At the time, new manager Roy Hodgson wanted Aquilani to go out on loan to regain some fitness before returning to the club this summer, but with Kenny Dalglish now at the helm, his future is uncertain.
His career at Vinovo has been more successful, having scored two goals in 27 appearances so far this season during a season of struggle for Juventus in Serie A.
