Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is reportedly considering making a bid for FC Utrecht's star striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.
The 21-year-old is certainly a talented goalscorer and has already hit an incredible 19 goals in 30 games so far this season, including a devastating hat-trick against Celtic in the Europa League.
Liverpool will know all about Van Wolfswinkel, who played against the Reds last week a goalless draw at Anfield.
The Dutchman is reportedly also being chased by other European clubs, but according to Italian website Tuttomercato, Liverpool are mulling over a nine million euros bid to bring Van Wolfswinkel to Anfield.
Van Wolfswinkel started out with Vitesse Arnhem and scored enough goals to attract the attention of relatively big clubs such as Twente.
However, he opted to join FC Utrecht where he stood a greater chance of regular first-team football. In just his second season at the club, Van Wolfswinkel has made himself one of the first names on the team sheet. He made his international debut against Ukraine in August.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Hodgson has recently highlighted the need to purchase a striker capable of lessening the goalscoring burden on Fernando Torres.
