Liverpool are believed to be hoping that Luis Suarez will hand in a transfer request to force a move away from Ajax.
The Reds were reported to have tabled a bid of £12.7 million, before the Dutch club rejected the offer by asking them to come back with a more "respectful" bid.
But The Telegraph reports that the Merseyside outfit are hoping that the Uruguay forward hands in a transfer request to ease the process.
It is believed that Suarez's current wages would be doubled, should he opt for a move to the Merseyside club.
Liverpool's reported target Charlie Adam has also handed in a transfer request at Blackpool.
