The race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Mark Van Bommel looks set to hot up with the player’s representative revealing that the transfer saga will run right up to the end of the transfer window on January 31st.
The 33-year-old was close to securing a move to AC Milan however the Dutch international is now keeping his options open with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City all chasing the combative midfielder with the Italian giants still keen to secure the capture of the former Barcelona enforcer.
At the veteran stage in his career Van Bommel appeared to have missed out on a chance of playing in the Premier League after turning down the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the past to test himself with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
"There are possibilities for Mark Van Bommel, we will have to see. Mino Raiola told Sport.co.uk.
"Nothing has been decided to be honest, and I think Mark Van Bommel will be one of those players that goes right up until the 31st January. There are a number of top clubs now interested.
When asked specifically about Liverpool, Raiola said:
"Well, I think that is what Liverpool wants. But, remember, I have not spoken to Liverpool or had any contact with anyone regarding their interest in Van Bommel.
"I have been accused of naming Liverpool, but I want to make it clear they have not made contact as of yet and I have never talked to anyone from the club. There are other clubs in England interested as well, so we will see."
Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Van Bommel with fellow countryman Raphael Van de Vaart desperate for him to help the North London club's challenge for honours while Manchester City are considering adding some much needed experience to their midfielder ranks.
