Lille v LFC: Best bets

Monday night was a disappointing result but at least we have the opportunity to put things right quickly with a trip to Lille in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

The important thing about European competition is the ability to manage a tie over two legs. Liverpool and Rafa Benitez have plenty of experience and will be looking to establish a good platform for the return leg at Anfield.

A draw at odds of 3.10 (21/10) is the best bet on the night given that Lille had reeled off eleven home wins in a row prior to last weekend's defeat to Auxerre. 

The Reds will likely start off in a cautious manner and odds of 2.0 (Evens) about the game being all square at half time are also an option given that Liverpool have been in that position away from home in 10 out of 15 away games in the Barclays Premier League this season.

Away goals are an important boost and the best correct score bet is to go with a 1-1 draw at odds of 6.5 (11/2).

If Lille get in front Liverpool's odds in the In Play market will drift, as they did against Unirea Urziceni in the last round, but history shows we do have the ability to come back in Europe, and if you cannot make it to the game in France, watching with one eye on the TV and one on the computer could make for an entertaining and hopefully profitable night.
