Paul Jones became the oldest player to make his debut for Liverpool since World War II, 36 years, 8 months and 23 days old when he played against Aston Villa at Anfield in January 2004.
An experienced Premiership goalkeeper, Gerard Houllier brought him in on loan because of injuries to Jerzy Dudek and Chris Kirkland. With Patrice Luzi not considered experienced enough, Jones played two games.
A much travelled stopper, he was a reliable goalkeeper and on his 50th cap for Wales, he got the number 50 shaved into his head.

Kidderminster, Wolves, Stockport, Southampton, Wolves (2), Watford (on loan), Millwall (on loan), QPR, Bognor Regis Town (non league)
