Bangor-born Mervyn Jones made four appearances in Liverpool's forward-line in the early 1950's.
He figured three times towards the end of the 1951-52 season and then made one further appearance in November 1952. He also played in one FA Cup tie for the Reds, the ignominious 3rd round defeat at Gateshead in January 1953.
Mervyn was transferred to Scunthorpe United in July 1953 and totalled 392 league games and 53 league goals in his career.
