A talented inside-forward, Kevin Baron played as an amateur for his home-town club Preston before arriving at Anfield.
He made six league appearances in the 1947-48 season but the side which had won the championship the previous year was fairly settled and Kevin's youth and lack of experience kept him on the sidelines for a while.
His big breakthrough came in the 1949-50 campaign when he only missed four league matches and also played in Liverpool's FA cup team against Arsenal at Wembley. He played only seven matches the next year but in 1951-52 missed just two of the club's 42 League fixtures and scored six goals in those 40 games.
An impressive nine goals were scored from 27 league matches the following season but in May 1954 Kevin left Liverpool and joined Southend United.
Other clubs:
Preston, Southend, Northampton; Gravesend & Northfleet, Wisbech Town (both amateur), Aldershot; Cambridge City, Bedford Town, Maldon Town (all amateur)
