Inside-forward John Walker played for Liverpool right at the end of the 19th Century and in the early days of the 20th.
Signed from Edinburgh club Heart of Midlothian just before the 1897-98 season opened, A year later he missed just two league and cup games, scoring 12 times from 38 matches. He was also a regular in the side and a regular goalscorer for the next two years and won a League championship medal with Liverpool in 1901, the club's first major title. John made a further 18 league appearances in 1901-02 and then returned to his native Scotland to play for Rangers.
