Aberystwyth-born John Price was raised at Fordhouse youth club and signed for Liverpool in October 1954 but figured only once in the first-team at Anfield. His one opportunity came when he was selected to play at left back for the Second Division fixture at Elland Road, Leeds on November 19, 1955. John was later on the books of Aston Villa, Walsall and Shrewsbury Town.
