Bobby Marshall made 20 First Division appearances for Liverpool plus one in the FA cup competition right at the end of the 19th Century.
He started the 1897-98 season on the right-wing and played in the opening 16 fixtures before losing his place to Fred Geary. He only made one more appearance before the end of the season and just two more in 1898-99. Marshall scored twice for Liverpool, both goals coming in a 4-2 home win over Derby County on October 23, 1897. Marshall moved south to Portsmouth where he played 227 games and scored 35 goals from 1899-1904.
