Bertram Goode had scored 13 goals in 17 Combination matches for Chester when Liverpool signed him up following the 1907-8 season.
Goode only played in seven league matches in his two seasons at Liverpool. His only goal for the club was the first of Liverpool's strikes in a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United on 28th December 1909.
He joined Wrexham in the Birmingham & District League where he scored 37 goals in 39 League and Cup games including four goals in the 6-1 victory over Connah's Quay in the Welsh Cup final.
In 1911 he joined top first division team Aston Villa scoring three goals in seven league games, while netting 46 times for Villa's reserves.
Goode moved to Second Division Hull City the following season, claiming 10 goals in 28 League matches before rejoining Wrexham. Goode scored 136 goals in 276 matches in his three spells at Wrexham and is remembered as one of the greatest strikers in the Welsh club's history.
