We reported earlier today that Manchester United manager David Moyes was in Portugal last night to watch Benfica beat Porto 3-1 in the semi-finals of the Taca de Portugal.
Liverpool scouts were also present yesterday and according to Portugal newspaper O Jogo, they were scouting three players from Benfica.
O Jogo reports that Liverpool scouts were watching Lazar Markovic, Rodrigo Moreno and Guilherme Siqueira, who has joined on loan from Granada.
The case of Markovic is bit interesting. Both Chelsea and Liverpool are thought to be interested in the young midfielder, but the Reds will have to fork out around €35m to lure him, where as the Blues can get him within €15m only, because of prior agreement with Benfica.
Moreno has been a target of Arsenal for some time now. Back in the January transfer window, we reported that the Gunners are in talks with Benfica over the possibility of signing the player, who has a release clause of around £25m.
Arsenal are not willing to match that price, which could open the door for Liverpool. Inter Milan are also thought to be interested for his signature.
Liverpool were thought to be interested in Siqueira, who was also a target of Manchester United.
