Liverpool could be set to recoup up to £5million from the sale of Albert Riera to Olympiakos.
Roy Hodgson had offered the 28-year-old a shot at redemption after his high-profile bust-up with former manager Rafael Benitez towards the end of last season, during which he described Liverpool as a 'sinking ship'.
But despite the winger being heavily involved in the club's pre-season training camp in Switzerland, reports in Greece claim that a deal will be completed by Thursday with an initial fee of €4million (£3.4M) being paid up front to the Reds.
An additional €2million (£1.7M) will wing its way to Anfield should Riera lift the Greek Super League in his first season at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
