AC Milan have failed to rule out a bid for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani and claimed 'He could be of interest.'
Aquilani's future is in some doubt given that he wants a return to Italy after being told that he doesn't feature in the future plans of the Anfield club.
Having seen moves to Juventus and Fiorentina seemingly fall through this summer, he's now been paired with Milan.
"We could talk about Aquilani," Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani noted on Monday morning.
"He's a midfielder with the characteristics that we are looking for so, like with other players in his role, he could be of interest."
Aquilani spent last season on loan at Juve, but the Turin giants decided not to buy him outright after picking up Andrea Pirlo from Milan.
Meanwhile, the club official has also discussed rumours of an Antonio Cassano exit and the proposed arrival of Thiago Motta from Inter.
"There is nothing in these stories," Galliani continued. "Cassano is a Milan player.
"A move to Genoa for Antonio could only occur if he asks to leave. If he doesn't do that then he will definitely stay here with us."
