Liverpool have been told they must wait until the summer to sign A-League star Marco Rojas.
The Melbourne Victory striker, who has hit 10 goals in 15 league games for his side this season, has caught the eye of not only Liverpool but several clubs worldwide, but Melbourne boss Ange Postecoglu says he is confident the 21-year-old will remain in Australia for the remainder of his contract.
"I'm in contact with his dad very regularly and at this stage we're confident he'll stay with us until the end of the season," said Postecoglou.
"We've been in constant discussion with Marco and from our point of view we're very happy with his form this season and how he's developing and his development is a priority.
"At this stage we're comfortable with how he's going and where things are at."
If the New Zealand international remains in Melbourne until the end of the season, the club will not be able to demand a transfer fee but appear willing to forgo the money in order to retain him for a few more months.
