Rafa Benitez is reportedly lining up an £8m summer swoop to bring in Bolton's highly rated winger South Korean Lee Chung-Yong to help provide more creativity in the club's midfield and provide more firepower for the Anfield strike force.
The 21 year old former FC Seoul man has impressed many since his arrival at the Reebok last July and his flair, ability to put in a good cross consistently and eye for goal have not gone unnoticed.
Liverpool are reportedly close to securing the exit of Spanish international Albert Riera and its thought that funds from any sale, probably to a Russian side sometime soon, would go towards attempting to snap up the Trotters man.
The Bolton man has adjusted well to life in the Premier League and has become a regular first team player under both current boss Owen Coyle and Gary Megson before him.
Chung-Yong's displays have helped the Lancashire side keep itself above the relegation zone and will hope that his efforts go some way to helping the side avoid the dreaded drop.
Coyle will not be keen to lose the South Korean but may find it hard to prevent the youngster from having his head turned by such interest and with a World Cup on the horizon it could be that Chung-Yong becomes a much sought after signing.
The right winger could help provide more natural width for the Merseyside club who would love to bring in new additions this summer but are severely constrained by a lack of transfer funds likely to be made available, hence Benitez's need to offload under performing players in order to sign new ones.
