Liverpool could turn to Udinese's Pablo Armero to solve their troublesome left-back position.
Former Reds boss Roy Hodgson signed Paul Konchesky in the summer, but the Londoner failed to make the grade at Anfield and was shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest in January.
Fabio Aurelio has been playing at left-back in recent weeks but has suffered with injuries throughout the season, and was taken off during Sunday's 1-1 draw at Arsenal.
Now reports in Italy have revealed that Liverpool have lined up Colombia international Armero as a summer transfer target.
The 24-year-old, who can also play in a more advanced role on the left-wing, has starred for Udinese in his first Serie A season since joining from Palmeiras in the summer.
Armero has made no secret of his desire to join Arsenal in the past, but Liverpool hope they can tempt him to the Premier League and could be ready to meet Udinese's £9m asking price.
