Aston Villa full back Stephen Warnock could soon be heading back to Liverpool.
Warnock is out of favour at Aston Villa after a fall-out with boss Gerard Houllier.
The England defender also served under Houllier at Anfield, where pair did not always see eye to eye.
Warnock went out on loan to both Bradford and Coventry before being sold to Blackburn by Houllier's Liverpool successor Rafa Benitez in January, 2007. He signed for Villa 18 months ago.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish wants Warnock back at Anfield, and will make a move provided he can sell Paul Konchesky back to Fulham.
Dalglish may ask Villa for a loan deal before the transfer window closes, with a view to a permanent move in the summer, once he knows about his own long-term future.
