Portsmouth defender Sam Magri will spend this week on trial with Liverpool.

The 17-year-old is an England youth international and played in last summer's Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.

If Magri impresses then the Reds will look to negotiate a permanent move with administration hit Portsmouth for the highly-rated teenager.

He is regarded as one of Pompey's most promising talents but has yet to make his first team debut.
