Wealthy Ligue 1 side Monaco are firmly in the running to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho, who is tipped to leave the Parc des Princes this summer.

Sakho has grown concerned about the lack of competition for a first team spot at PSG and is thought to have decided to quit the club if the right offer comes along.

AC Milan and Liverpool are known to be firm fans of the 23-year-old centre-back, but according to Le Parisien, Monaco are also firmly in the mix.

The ball is now very firmly in the court of Sakho's suitors, as he waits to see what concrete offers materialise.

Sakho featured 27 times in Ligue 1 last season as PSG won the French crown.
