Italian newspaper Il Giornale della Toscana states that Fiorentina are hopeful of signing Liverpool left back Emiliano Insua.
The Florence club were all set to sign the 21 year old Argentine but the deal has been slowed down by the appointment of Roy Hodgson as Liverpool manager.
They are now having to wait for Hodgson to assess the state of his squad before the manager finally makes a decision on the player's future, and he wants to know what money will be put at his disposal to find a replacement for the player if he allows Insua to leave.
The Reds will get €4million if the sale goes ahead and Hodgson may want to ensure he has a replacement lined up before sanctioning any deal, especially with the departures of left backs Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena in recent times.
