MANCHESTER CITY defender Kolo Toure could be set to join Liverpool after the club expressed an interest in signing the Ivorian to replace retired stalwart Jamie Carragher.
Carragher's last outing for Liverpool was Sunday's 1-0 win over QPR at Anfield, which almost provided the perfect farewell but for the post denying the central defender from range.
And Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has wasted no time in lining up his replacement, by targeting out-of-contract Manchester City stopper Toure.
Having announced he would leave the Etihad this summer back in February, the elder Toure brother has been used sparingly by Roberto Mancini this season.
