Liverpool are involved in a tussle in their attempt to bring Barca's Alexis Sanchez to Anfield in January.
The Reds have had Sanchez on their radar for a while and are keen to bolster their firepower.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is worried Liverpool have become over-reliant on Luis Suarez, who is already into double figures for the campaign.
And in allowing Andy Carroll to be loaned out to West Ham in the summer, Suarez is their only recognised striker.
AS have it that Juventus have sounded out a January move for the former Udinese forward.
Sanchez has struggled for consistency at the Camp Nou this season.
Playing time has been restricted with coach Tito Vilanova deploying predominantly Lionel Messi up top without a strike partner.
In total, Sanchez has scored just once this season and that came in Barca's 2-0 away win against Benfica in the Champions League group stages.
