Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is closing in on a £5million for Granada left-back Guilherme Siqueira, and is also targeting a new left winger.
Everton had been linked with a move for Brazilian Siqueira as a replacement for Manchester United target Leighton Baines, but the Reds has moved swiftly to edge out their Merseyside rivals.
Rodgers had considered loan moves for Benfica's Lorenzo Megarejo and Valencia's Aly Cissokho, but settled on a permanent deal for Siqueira.
The 27-year-old is expected to move to Anfield for around £5m, as Liverpool press Granada for further talks.
The Northern Irish manager wants to play Daniel Sturridge up front with Phillipe Coutinho just behind him, and draft in a new attacking face on the left.
"We are looking for someone on the left with pace and who can score goals," Rodgers said.
