Reds fans knew it already but now it's official. No Premier League strike pairing has been able to match Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge this season - not even Manchester City's £60m front line of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo.
Statistical analysis carried out by Trinity Mirror's data unit confirms 'The SAS' are superior to their rivals from up the M62.
The number crunchers took a look through all of the games the two strikers have played this season to find out which partnership scores the most goals.
They only counted goals scored when both strikers in the partnership were on the pitch at the same time.
Manchester City's duo have played together on only 17 occasions in all competitions this season, scoring 27 goals.
That gives them a goals per game ratio of 1.59. Had they played together each Premier league game, they would have bagged 60 goals between them.
However, Suarez and Sturridge have played a total of 22 matches together, scoring a whopping 37 goals - a ratio of 1.68 a game.
Had the two played all 38 league games this season they would have managed a total of 63 goals - just edging the Manchester pair.
The two strike pairings meet at Anfield in just over a week's time - when they will be looking to fire their respective sides closer to the Premier League title.
