Liverpool transfer speculation today sees Reds boss Brendan Rodgers step up his chase to sign coveted Udinese defensive midfield player Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.
The left-back position has been one of concern for Rodgers as he continues to be without first choice Jose Enrique.
And now he looks set to make a move for Chelsea's out-of-favour full-back Ryan Bertrand to fill the void.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly readying a bid for West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame while reports that Liverpool had agreed a deal to sign FC Basel winger Mohamed Salah appear to be wide of the mark.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers revealed the club were continuing to try and improve the squad this transfer window, and according to new reports are now interested in 23-year-old Udinese star Agymang-Badu.
Liverpool are said to be monitoring the situation surrounding the players after he reportedly made it clear he was interested in a move to the Premier League.
Badu, who has previously been scouted by Arsenal and Tottenham, is currently valued at around £7m and could also offer some much needed cover for the backline as well as in the middle of the park.
Liverpool are reportedly readying a bid for West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame.
Brendan Rodgers is apparently keen to strengthen his central midfield options. The 26 year old Hammers star has a £3.5m release clause, which would represent something of a bargain buy even though the French born Senegal international hasn't had the best of season's thus far.
Rodgers looks set to make a move for Chelsea's out-of-favour full-back Ryan Bertrand.
The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under boss Jose Mourinho, with Cesar Azpilicueta often playing as a makeshift left-back.
Liverpool have NOT come to an agreement to sign FC Basel's highly-rated Egyptian Mohamed Salah.
Social media rumours have suggested the Basel forward has agreed a five-year-deal with the Anfield club - but those have been categorically dismissed by his agent.
Furthermore, Liverpool aren't alone in their pursuit of the player.
At least one other English Premier League club hold the player in high regard, while there is notable interest from Germany and from one unnamed Spanish club.
Basel expect the Egyptian ace to be part of the club's winter training camp in Marbella in January.
Following the postponement of the Egyptian domestic season in 2011, Salah impressed in a bounce match between the Swiss champions and his national U23 side, leading to a permanent move to St-Jakob's Park.
European strikes against Chelsea - on two occasions - and Tottenham in the Europa League and Champions League have alerted the continent's biggest clubs.
The 21-year-old still has more than two years to run on his current Basel deal, which expires in 2016.
Known as the 'Egyptian Messi', Salah is currently with the man himself filming a TV commercial in Cairo.
Rodgers has played down reports of a January loan move for Barcelona attacker Cristian Tello.
Tello was linked with a season-long loan move to Anfield in the summer of 2012, although a deal ultimately failed to materialise.
Rodgers said: "I'm sure that will be the start of it [speculation], and there will be plenty more. I've nothing to add in terms of players coming in. There's nothing imminent."
