Liverpool are increasingly confident they can land a January double capture of Daniel Sturridge and Tom Ince.
Brendan Rodgers has targeted the pair as he looks to bolster his strike-force and provide support for leading goalscorer Luis Suarez.
The Northern Irishman is keen to conclude any business early during next month's transfer window.
Sturridge, on Rodgers' shopping list in the summer, has grown frustrated with his lack of first-team action at Chelsea, with Liverpool ready to offer £12m
Ince has been hugely impressive for npower Championship outfit Blackpool this season, scoring 13 goals in 20 appearances and earning an England under-21 call-up.
The 20-year-old was sold for £500,000 in August 2011 by Liverpool to the Tangerines, who are asking for in the region of £6m for the winger.
However, the Anfield outfit will not have to pay that amount having negotiated a 35% sell-on clause when Ince departed 16 months ago.
