Liverpool and Arsenal target Marouane Chamakh is set to reveal his future by the end of the month.
The Bordeaux hitman is out of contract in the summer and he has reiterated his desire to leave the French champions, with the Barclays Premier League his preferred destination.
Arsenal appeared to be favourites to land Chamakh, who they tried to prise away during the summer but Liverpool have emerged as real contenders to sign the 25-year-old, after talks were held to make Anfield his new home.
"I'd like my situation to be fixed quickly, both for me and the club," Chamakh told RMC Radio.
"If I'm not staying I want the club [Bordeaux] to have time to replace me. I'm still thinking about it, it's not an easy decision which you take on a whim.
"I still have two to three weeks to sort things out. Whatever happens, by the end of January I will give my answer to president Jean-Louis Triaud before speaking to the media."
