Simon scores as Hungary make semis

Andras Simon was on target as Hungary slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Germany in a Euro U19s Championship dead rubber on Sunday.

With both sides already through to the semi-finals, the Reds starlet was given his first start of the tournament – and repaid manager Tibor Sisa with a 74th minute header.

Both Krisztian Nemeth and Peter Gulacsi were rested ahead of Wednesday's semi-final against Italy.

Mikel San Jose, meanwhile, did not feature as Spain beat Bulgaria 4-0 over the weekend. The result came too late to prevent the reigning champions' elimination.

Germany face hosts Czech Republic in Wednesday's other semi-final.
