Rodolfo Borrell was full of praise for his Academy starlets after they reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup after a 2-0 win over Wolves at Anfield on Monday night.
The young Reds were full value for their victory and they scored two excellent goals with Tom Ince netting the opener and Krisztian Adorjan adding a second at the Kop end.
"We are really happy with this victory and I thought we deserved to win," said Borrell.
"It was good to see Tom score. He had some chances and he continued working hard all through the game. He scored his goal which was very important for us and him.
"Krisztian scored a deserved second goal and we also kept a clean sheet which is always very important. Everyone was focused on their job and it was a good performance."
For Borrell and the vast majority of the team it was their first taste of Anfield and it is an experience the coach thoroughly enjoyed.
"It was special for the players to play at Anfield," he added.
"This is one of the best stadiums in the world and we hope to have the chance to play here again in the competition."
Meanwhile goalscorer Ince is hoping last season's finalists can enjoy another good run in the Youth Cup once again.
"We are absolutely delighted and I thought we well and truly deserved the victory," he said.
"We lost to Wolves a couple of weeks ago on a very windy day when they scored a last minute winner so it was nice to win this one.
"I was delighted to score at Anfield. I missed a couple of earlier chances and thought it wasn't going to be night but I kept going and getting into situations where I could score goals, and fortunately I managed to get one.
"Last season was a great experience playing in the Youth Cup and I think after the performance against Wolves there is no reason why we can't do well again."
