Emiliano Insua insists the Liverpool players are determined to try and win the Europa League in order to bring some silverware back to Anfield as a reward for their loyal fans.
As the Reds prepare to take on Unirea Urziceni in the Europa League, the Reds No.22 is quick to acknowledge just how appreciative the players are for the wonderful support they have been given.
"We have to try to win the Europa League," Insua told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"We went out of the Carling Cup and FA Cup early this season so we want to win something for our supporters.
"Our supporters at this club are the most important part of Anfield. They always come to watch us and they give us incredible support.
"When we play at Anfield we always feel like we have got an extra player because of how special they are."
The Argentine left-back admits it will be be a different experience playing on a Thursday in Europe and added: "It will be strange to play on a Thursday as Liverpool is a team that normally plays in the Champions League.
"We have three months left in the season and we have to try and finish it as strong as possible.
"We want to be back in the Champions League next season and we have an important game against Manchester City on Sunday, but firstly we have this important game in the Europa League."
Rafael Benitez's men go into this tie having lost their last two home games in Europe on home soil to Lyon and Fiorentina, but Insua insists the team are determined to bring back a fortress Anfield.
He said: "This game will be different against a team we don't know too much about, but we have to approach the game with confidence.
"We are treating this game in the same way as would approach a Champions League tie. It's a similar competition as there are a lot of good teams in the Europa League who started the season in the Champions League.
"We have this first game at home and we have to play well and not concede an away goal because that could be crucial. We will do our best and hopefully get the victory.
"We have to try and win this game and then we can think about Manchester City."
