Blackburn v Reds: Stat attack

Here are all the pre-match stats and facts ahead of this weekend's clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park.

Overall League Record:  Liverpool 51 wins, Blackburn 34 wins, Draws 37.

At Blackburn:  Liverpool 15 wins, Blackburn 25 wins, Draws 21.

Last season Liverpool won 3-1 at Ewood Park with all the goals coming in the final 21 minutes. Xabi Alonso and Yossi Benyoun scored before Roque Santa Cruz pulled one back for the hone side. Steven Gerrard clinched the points in injury time.

In the return at Anfield Liverpool won 4-0. Fernando Torres scored twice in the first half before Daniel Agger and David Ngog completed the scoring in the final seven minutes.

In the 15 Premier League meetings at Ewood Park Liverpool have won five, drawn five and lost five.

Liverpool have lost just once in the last 21 League meetings home and away winning ten and drawing ten.

Liverpool's biggest win at Blackburn came in February 1966 when they won 4-1. That is the only time the Reds have scored more than three in a League game at Rovers.

Their heaviest defeat was suffered in September 1913 when they were beaten 6-2.

The Reds only defeat here in the last 13 years came on Boxing Day 2006 when Benni McCarthy scored the only goal of the game.

That is the only time in the last 21 league meetings home and away that Rovers have beaten Liverpool.

Since the inception of the Premier League Liverpool have won 14 and lost six of the 30 meetings.

Liverpool have kept two clean sheets in the last 24 visits since 1946 with both of them coming in the last three visits.

A win on Saturday will give Liverpool back-to-back league wins at Ewood Park for the first time in their history.

Ewood Park has witnessed only one goalless draw between the sides in the league in the last 63 years.

The last player to score a hat-trick in the fixture was Billy Liddell who scored three for the Reds in a 3-3 draw in February 1958. He is one of only two men to achieve the feat following Dick Forshaw in 1923. Ian Rush netted three in an away League Cup tie in 1994.

Steven Gerrard made his Liverpool debut against Rovers 11 years ago last week. On Saturday, he could play his 500^th game for the club in all competitions.

Daniel Agger's last goal came against Rovers - at Anfield last April.

Fernando Torres is two goals away from recording 50 in the league for the Reds. Should he score them in the next 12 games he will have achieved the feat quicker than any other Liverpool player ever, beating the record of 80 games held by Sam Raybould in 1902 and Albert Stubbins in 1949.

Three Liverpool players have started every league game this season - Pepe Reina, Lucas and Dirk Kuyt.

Liverpool have not lost a league game in which they have scored the first goal since going down 2-1 at Tottenham in November 2008.

Danny Shea was the last Rovers player to score a hat-trick against the Reds-he scored four times in the 6-2 win in 1913.

Rovers have scored just ten times in the last ten home games with Liverpool in the Premiership.

Blackburn are unbeaten in six league games at home since defeat to Manchester City on the opening day. Those games since have yielded four wins and two draws.

Their last three league wins at home have all come after conceding the opening goal of the game - to Aston Villa, Burnley and Portsmouth. 

Their last victory came at Bolton two weeks ago when they won 2-0. Since then they have lost at Fulham and last Saturday played out a goalless draw at Ewood with Stoke.

That defeat at Craven Cottage is their only defeat in the last four in the league.

Blackburn have failed to score in half of their 14 league games this season and have hit the net in only two of their last six matches.

So far against the so called 'big four' they have lost 6-2 at Arsenal, 5-0 at Chelsea and 2-0 at Manchester United.

David Dunn (with five) and Jason Roberts (three) have scored half of Rovers' league goals this season. 

Martin Atkinson has taken charge of two Liverpool games this season and have lost both - at  home to Aston Villa and way to Chelsea.
