William Keech represented Liverpool in six successive Second Division matches in the club's third season as members of the Football League in 1895-96.
He played in the Reds' half-back line, an area of the team where numerous changes were made during the course of the season.
In fact, considering that the club won the Second Division championship that year (although only on goal average from Manchester City), it was surprising that the team was not really settled, with no player being ever-present and no fewer than 22 men being used at some stage of the 30-game season.
Keech later played as forward for Leicester Fosse, scoring five goals in 15 league games, before returning to the half-back line with QPR‘s first professional team in the Southern league.
