A left-winger, who got noticed by LFC when he was playing Army football. McLeod played three times towards the close of the 1946-47 season, the year when Liverpool dramatically won the First Division championship title by winning their final fixture 2-1 at Wolverhampton on the last day of May.
McLeod had replaced Albert Stubbins in the Good Friday draw at Deepdale against Preston North End and then took over from Cyril Done for the Easter Monday return with Preston and also for the next home match against Sunderland. Mcleod wasn't called on at all the next season but had a run of four consecutive matches half-way through the 1948-49 season, his 7th and final Liverpool game coming two days after Christmas when Liverpool were beaten at home by Manchester United.
