Full-back Thomas Lowry who became a firm fixture at Crewe, setting the club's appearances record of 436 games.
Tom retired in 1977. Tom was one of a number of reserve-team players Bill Shankly used in the final meaningless league match of the 1964-65 season away to Wolverhampton, when he and his senior players had their eyes on a much more significant event - the FA Cup final at Wembley against Leeds United only five days later.
Despite their inexperience, the 'reserves' won this Molineux League fixture 3-1 but Tom never played for Liverpool's first-team again.
