His debut saw a convincing 4-1 home win over Woolwich Arsenal on 15th February 1908 and his fourth and final league appearance almost exactly a year later saw a similar scoreline again at home, this time against Leicester City.
Griffin played 34 games for Palace in the Southern League's first division, then joined non-league Hartlepools United before returning to League football with Barnsley in the second division where he made 69 appearances and scored seven goals.
