A winger with a supreme left foot, Sheedy was born in Wales but qualified to play for the Republic of Ireland.
He began his career with Hereford United as a teenager before signing for Liverpool in July 1978. He made his league debut for Liverpool on February 14, 1981, during a 2-2 home draw with Birmingham City, but his only other two appearances in the First Division were both as a substitute in the following season.
Sheedy also played in two league cup ties for Liverpool in 1981-82 and scored in both of them, against Exeter and Middlesbrough. With his opportunities at Anfield limited, Kevin decided to make the short trip across Stanley Park to join Everton and became a fixture in their side for several seasons, scoring regularly from his midfield position and winning championship and cup medals along the way.
He's considered by many as the best left-footer in Everton's history, playing 223 games and scoring 62 goals for the club from 1982-1988.
