Frode Kippe was a £700,000 signing from Lillestrom in 1998, Kippe performed impressively for the reserves during the 1998-99 season and was on the bench for Liverpool's friendly 3-2 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in May 1999.
He made his senior Reds debut in the Worthington Cup win against Hull City at Anfield in 1999, performing well in an unorthodox midfield role, after coming on as a 72nd minute substitute for Stephane Henchoz.
Kippe gained valuable first team experience at the Britannia Stadium and has proved a popular figure with supporters of the Potteries club.
He became a key member of their back four and helped them reach the final of the Auto Windscreens Shield, although unfortunately for him he couldn't play in their 2-1 victory over Bristol City at Wembley.
Kippe then spent the majority of the 2000-2001 season on loan at Stoke before returning to Anfield before the start of the 2001-2002 season.
Kippe re-signed for Lillestrom in January 2002 and became captain.
